On January 13, 1985, with the help of Akron Children’s Hospital, 140 local McDonald’s® restaurants, and countless volunteers, the Ronald McDonald House of Akron opened its doors on the campus of Akron Children’s Hospital, at the corner of State Street and Locust.

The 2010 Charity Golf Classic
On June 21, 2010 the Junior Women's Civic Club Charity held the annual Charity Golf Classic to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Akron.
A Shout Out of Thanks
On June 19, 2010, students from the Ohio Academy, Paul Mitchell Partner School in Twinsburg came to the Ronald McDonald House of Akron and gave haircuts to 13 of our guests!
