We provide temporary, affordable, yet quality housing in a comfortable, caring environment for families worldwide. While the actual cost to house a family is much greater, families are asked to make a nominal donation of $10/night. Furthermore, no family is ever turned away due to their inability to pay. We are not a hotel — rather, we offer a communal living environment in which all guests share responsibility for keeping our home safe, clean and operating smoothly.

The House welcomes families regardless of race, religion, nationality, gender or abilities.

At the Ronald McDonald House of Akron, we do accept reservations for the following: heart appointments (surgeries, procedures, etc.) Orthopedic surgeries, eeg/mri's, chemotherapy or radiation and out-patient physical therapy. For all other visits, rooms are available on a first come, first served basis.

Each family is assigned one room, which can accommodate up to 4 people. Each room has two twin beds, a private bath and radio alarm clocks.
