Guest Services
The Ronald McDonald House of Akron offers many just-like-home amenities, such as laundry facilities (including ironing boards and irons), full kitchens, and indoor and outdoor play areas. All supplies for washing and drying clothes are provided at no cost. When a guest is ready to check out they need to take sheets and towels which they have used and put them in the laundry basket provided in each room. The dirty linens are left in the room where they will be sent by the staff to a professional linen service.
Neonatal Provisions
We also have 4 breast pumps provided by the hospital. All hookup equipment is available from the NICU/Lactation dept. at CHMCA.
Handicapped Facilities
The House is equipped with an elevator, handicap restroom and shower and is wheelchair accessible.
House Activities
From time to time, our generous donors offer tickets for sporting events, the Akron Zoo and other activities. These offerings will be posted outside the office when available. During your visit, you might also encounter civic, social and corporate groups preparing meals for your stay.
Kitchen
There are 3 complete kitchens, and an evening meal is always prepared for our registered guests.
Secured Parking Lot
Private parking is available to all families and is located in the Bowery Street Parking Deck. This is free for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Akron.
